Julian Tuwim was a renowned Polish poet, born in 1894 in Łódź, which was then under Russian rule. He pursued his education in both Łódź and Warsaw, where he studied law and philosophy at Warsaw University. This foundational knowledge would later influence his literary career. Tuwim's poetic talents were not limited to a single genre, as he also wrote under the pseudonym Oldlen, creating lyrics that showcased his versatility as a writer.

Tuwim's contribution to Polish literature is multifaceted and significant. He was a co-founder of the Skamander group, an experimental poetry collective that included notable poets Antoni Słonimski and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz. This group played a crucial role in shaping the country's literary landscape after Poland regained independence in 1918. Tuwim's work extended to children's literature, earning him widespread admiration. His achievements were formally recognized in 1935 when he received the prestigious Golden Laurel of the Polish Academy of Literature, solidifying his position as a major figure in Polish literary circles until his death in 1953.
