Moshe Arens

Israeli politician (1925–2019)

Moshe Arens was a multifaceted Israeli figure, whose career spanned various fields including aeronautical engineering, research, diplomacy, and politics. Born in 1925, he went on to become a prominent politician, serving in the Knesset for a total of over two decades, with terms from 1973 to 1992 and again from 1999 to 2003. During his tenure, he held key ministerial positions, showcasing his expertise and leadership capabilities.

Arens' ministerial appointments included serving as Minister of Defense on three separate occasions, as well as a stint as Minister of Foreign Affairs. In addition to his domestic roles, he also represented Israel internationally as the ambassador to the United States. Furthermore, Arens was an academic, holding a professorship at the prestigious Technion in Haifa. His diverse career, which combined technical expertise with diplomatic and political acumen, came to a close with his passing in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of public service and contributions to Israel's development.
