Shimon Maryles

Shimon Maryles was a prominent Hasidic rabbi who lived from 1758 to 1849. Born in Jarosław, he would go on to become a key figure in the development of Hasidic Judaism. Maryles is also known by an alternative name, Rabbi Shimon Yerslover, which reflects his connection to the town of Jarosław, also referred to as Yeruslav.
