Alberto Nisman

Argentine lawyer and prosecutor (1963–2015)

Natalio Alberto Nisman was a prominent Argentine lawyer and federal prosecutor, specializing in the field of law. He is notably recognized for his role as the chief investigator of the 1994 car bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires, a tragic event that resulted in the loss of 85 lives, marking it as the deadliest terrorist attack in Argentina's history.

Nisman's life and career were cut short when he was found dead at his home in Buenos Aires on 18 January 2015. His death occurred on the eve of his scheduled appearance before a Congress inquiry, where he was expected to present his findings, allegedly including incriminating evidence against high-ranking officials of the Argentine government at the time, including former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. The evidence reportedly pertained to the Memorandum of Understanding between Argentina and Iran, a matter of significant importance and controversy.
